My Current Books

Farms and Foods of the Garden State is my first book. It’s got some photos (of course!) but there are also thirty farm profiles, over one hundred recipes, and a shopping guide to many of the state’s best food resources.

Visit the Farms and Foods website.

Cucina Piemontese is a book devoted the cooking of Italy’s Piedmont region – it’s an area known for beef, cheese and truly great wine. The book was written along with my wife; Piemonte native Maria Grazia Asselle and contains over ninety recipes including antipasti like sweet and sour onions (shown in the photo on the left), pastas, meats and desserts.

As with Farms and Foods of the Garden State, it’s published by Hippocrene Books.

Books In Progress

I’ve just about finished a book on tomatoes for the Countryman Press. It will have at least 100 recipes and lots of interesting information, including my visit to the legendary Pittston (PA) tomato fights.

You’ll find it on shelves in 2009.

Finally, I’m just getting started on “The Big Book of British Food,” the first American book on British cooking in decades. In it, you’ll find a mix of contemporary, traditional, and curry shop dishes. It will be published by Harvard Common Press in 2010.
